Public art is an essential and revealing component of a community’s personality and culture. Below, we’ve gathered our favorite art and cultural activities to do this summer in Joplin MO.

Joplin Arts Fest

Joplin Arts Fest is an annual summer art festival hosted by The Kiwanis Club of Joplin – in collaboration with Joplin Regional Artists Coalition, Connect2Culture, and Spiva Center for the Arts.

This year’s event will be held on Friday, September 20th (6:00–10:00pm) and Saturday, September 21st (9:00am–4:00pm) at Joplin’s beautiful Mercy Park. This festival – full of fine artist booths, live performances, and children’s art activities – gives visitors an opportunity to learn about the local arts and cultural community in Joplin and elsewhere. 40+ artists, live music, kids’ art activities, face painting, beer, wine, food, and fun!

First Thursday Art Walk

Nearly 40 talented artists and musicians will span nine downtown Joplin venues during the summer’s First Thursday ArtWalks. The monthly event is set for 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Find out more on the First Thursday Art Walk Facebook page.
